Jay County is located on the Eastern border of Indiana approximately 50 miles South of Fort Wayne on US 27. Named after the first Supreme Court Justice John Jay, Jay County was established as an Indiana county in 1836 and is 38th in the alphabetical state listing. With an approximate population or 21,000 residents and 380 square miles, Jay County offers rural and small communities where neighbors, friends, and families can grow.
