The first Sunday in April of 2006 marked that start of a new Church in Jay County called “The ROCK ”. Lead by Pastor Jeff Horsman, The ROCK holds services every Sunday in both of East Jay Middle School’s Gymnasiums by moving in tables, chairs, two stages with full multimedia presentation and sound systems.

The small gymnasium is transformed into “The Cave”, where grade school aged children have their own worship service that is directed towards the interests and likes of this age group. Nursery and preschool services are provided for the younger children in class rooms that are setup for each age group.

A casual environment with multimedia screens, live band, refreshment tables, and an exciting atmosphere is what can be found in the larger gymnasium. Adam Koehler the Worship and Connections Pastor for The ROCK leads the praise band with creative twists to classic rock tunes and upbeat hymns.

The ROCK has seen continuous growth and has opened an office at 119 North Meridian St. in Portland, Indiana and can be reached by phone between 8:30 and 4:30 M-F at 260-726-7474.

Services are every Sunday at the East Jay Middle School starting at 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M.

Everyone is invited and the dress code is always “come as you are” at The ROCK . Come and join the excitement, get a cup of coffee (or soft drink) and experience the excitement of meaningful worship.
