CoCoRaHS training
This program will feature Ashley Brooks of the National Weather Service and Ken Scheeringa of the Indiana State Climate Office at Purdue who will lead a one hour training session for new CoCoRaHS volunteers.
CoCoRaHS, the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow network is a national volunteer network of backyard weather observers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map precipitation in their local communities. CoCoRaHS in Indiana was started in 2006 and today has over 1000 volunteers but many more are needed.
New volunteers who sign up at this meeting will receive a free standard CoCoRaHS rain gauge at the conclusion of the talk. Residents of Indiana from outside Jay county are also welcome.
Reservations are not required but encouraged to help us plan for meeting materials.
